Chris Martenson, “If we’re at Peak Oil we might have 10 or 5 Years”
Watch more Capital Account @ www.youtube.com Watch the full episode @ www.youtube.com twitter.com twitter.com The Euro hits an 11-month low after a selloff as euro officials warn their crisis solution may be tougher to commit to than thought…the US says it will top producing one dollar presidential coins in order to save money — it has a bunch just sitting around. But how is money really created or destroyed? How is the money supply expanded, and debt financed? Is our fiat money system of exponential credit market growth sustainable or is a breakdown on the horizon? And with OPEC reaching a deal on oil producing, the US auctioning off the first offshore oil leases since Deep Horizon’s spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the extension of the Kyoto protocol…do global leaders and politicians really understand what the stakes are in global economy, the environment and the energy picture? Are all three of these “E’s” coming to a point where something has “gotta give?” We speak to resource specialist, retired scientist, and popular lecturer Chris Martenson, about these very issues. Chris Martenson is also author of the popular book and web series The Crash Course.

euronews interview – António Guterres: “we’re witnessing human suffering on an epic scale”
www.euronews.com For the fifth consecutive year the number of forcibly displaced people worldwide has reached 42 million and aid is now at a critical level. Euronews met with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, António Guterres who highlights the most pressing issues that a growing number of people are facing. Michel Santos, euronews: Mr. António Guterres welcome to euronews. For the 5th consecutive year there are more than 42 million forcibly displaced people throughout the world. What can we understand from this? António Guterres, UN High Commissioner for Refugees: I think it’s a combination of two factors. On the one hand there has been a multiplication of new crises. Since the beginning of 2011, the Ivory Coast, Libya, Yemen, Syria, the Horn of Africa – Somalia – and then more recently Sudan, South Sudan and Mali. And at the same time, old crises never seem to die: Afghanistan is still going on and on; Somalia or the Democratic Republic of Congo. And more than 70 percent of the world’s refugees have been refugees for more than 5 years. Michel Santos, euronews: Is the worldwide economic turmoil affecting the aid for refugees? António Guterres, UN High Commissioner for Refugees: The world economic crisis has made two impacts. It’s reduced the amount of humanitarian support for people in need but it’s also triggered instability and conflict in many situations. There is a clear link, for instance, when you have high food prices and social instability at an urban level …

‘We’re funding both sides of the war’ – United States is funding the Taliban
Stories keep coming out of Afghanistan that the private mercenaries from the United States are giving protection money to the Afghan Taliban. The installed puppet Afghan leaders, who are on the CIA payroll, have connections to the drug lords. Why are America’s finest being sent to fight and die while both sides of the war are being funded by the United States? This clip was from the June 26, 2010 edition of Govern America, heard live every Saturday morning from 8AM to 11AM Eastern time on the Republic Broadcasting Network. Most of the road signs in Pennsylvania have a date written on the back, presumably the date of installation. This seems like a good policy in case this information is otherwise lost. But I have a feeling the person who put up this sign would have no problem recalling the exact date it was installed.
What is in a name

An immature sea-eagle near Inglewood, about 300km from the sea. Common along major rivers. Wing span about 2 metres.

If men and women were seperate species, which would survive?
Question by General Disarray: If men and women were seperate species, which would survive?
Let’s say that men and women were seperate species (don’t ask the specifics of how they reproduce) like Cro Magnons and Neanderthals. Which one would die out first and which would survive?
I’m going to have to go with men, because women don’t really have any tangible aspects in which they’re better except things like ‘feelings’ or whatever, that don’t really matter.
Women wouldn’t be aggressive enough to fight over scarce resources. And they’re not very inventive and would probably fall behind technologically. Why? Well, women would probably try to leave peacefully with one another, but it is in fact competition and the desire to defeat an enemy that leads to ingenuity.
And women obviously aren’t very strong physically and are easily frightened so they wouldn’t be succesful at military conquest, and of course wouldn’t be able to hunt ferocious beasts for food.
So, I think they’d go the way of the neanderthal if competing with men over resources.

Assuming that we were out in the wild still?
Both species, probably. They would both have roughly the same anatomical adaptations, which would allow them roughly equal success with hunting and gathering.
If they were fighting for the same resources, however, the victors would be the men. There’s no question. The personalities wouldn’t really make a difference, but I’m guessing the brute strength would.
Of course, this question makes no sense because the physical differences have developed for very specific reasons which would not make any biological sense if the sexes were separate species.
Schluss again.
