Indoor Poppy Gardening

My video has been blocked due to possible “Copyright violations”. I am disputing this. I am using about 10 percent of the instrumental portion of this material, and virtually no lyrics from this music. This video and any audio attached is not for any commercial purpose, but strictly information and humorous opinion. My using 10 to 20 seconds of an old Alan Parsons song is NOT going to have any effect on this material. Having said that….. This is just a brief clip sharing part of my experience with indoor gardening of P.Somniferum. As you can see, it is possible to do, provided you have some space and patience, plus a lot of PATIENCE! I said it twice cause it’s true for sure. This was done in the most simple way possible with minimal effort or expense. If you really wanted to dedicate time and spend moderate investment, you could grow several plants, but keep in mind only for your own personal enjoyment of a private hobby. Also, keep in mind that this plant contains dangerous toxic chemicals which are regulated in certain areas, so be CERTAIN that it’s legal to grow and/or possess these plants before you try to grow them. Where I live in Eastern Europe, they are legal to grow and possess, and many “babki” use them for various home remedies (though that’s likely not technically legal). Czech, Slovak, and Polish cooking is full of recipes using poppy seed! Many Czechs and Slovaks still use “Poppy tea” as an expectorant and home cure, but interestingly they shy away from …

I have two turtles, or say, terrapins at my house, I wanted to build a good indoor enclosure for them. Ideas?
Question by Garbage13: I have two turtles, or say, terrapins at my house, I wanted to build a good indoor enclosure for them. Ideas?
I have had these two, Crumb and Snort, for over a year now. They are small, Indian Roofed Turtles, both 9 cm long. I don’t know their age, their gender, but one of them is definitely male. The other one is probably female(tail size). Now, I live in South Asia, where keeping such turtles is not allowed, but well, people keep them anyways, and it’s not like we’re mistreating them at our house. But the problem is that here they don’t sell essential stuff required to keep a turtle properly. Now my turtles are quite healthy, but they’re not growing any bigger, they have been the same size. So I wanted to make a bigger enclosure for them. We had been keeping them in a tub( used for infants) till now, and changed the water everyday. Recently, I designed a glass enclosure( can’t be called an aquarium) with a glass shelf in-between. What else is necessary for the turtles to live in it? There is no water filter, it just has a hole through which all the water can be drained, and I intend to change the water everyday. Then, what kind of water plants and rocks do these turtles need? And can we replace UVB lighting with something else?( not available here) Currently, we are just keeping them in sunlight…. I want them to have a good home, though only with the limited resources I have.

Can you get a stiff plastic wading pool? That seems to be the cheapest way to provide a lot of space for turtles. The low sides and broad base also allow sunshine to get in. UV rays will not penetrate glass. The other way to provide vitamin D is to feed the turtles liver, which is a good source. Rather than rocks, I like a slab of wood fixed at a slight angle to allow the turtles to climb out of the water.
