www.loyolapress.com On the Diocese of Trenton’s show, “The Catholic Corner,” David Rizzo discusses the tools he created to help kids with autism receive First Communion. His work all started with his son’s 2008 Eagle Scout project. A few years ago, 14-year-old Brendan Rizzo noticed his parents were having trouble finding resources to help his sister Danielle, who has autism, prepare for her First Holy Communion. Brendan needed a Eagle Scout project, so he decided to organize a special-needs library at his parish to help Danielle and other children receive the Sacraments. Brendan’s parents helped him by developing a series of learning tools to be used by children preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Eucharist. Based on Brendan’s work, Loyola Press developed the Adaptive First Eucharist Preparation Kit to prepare children with special needs. The kit includes 8 pieces, including Mass Picture Cards to help children focus and actively participate in the Mass, and a How to Receive Communion Matching Puzzle, showing all the steps of receiving Communion reverently. For extra credit my political science teacher has allowed me to write a short (one page or less paper) about a president and their leadership style. I decided to talk about Barack Obama’s Leadership style… yet I’m having some trouble coming up with ideas of what to say about his leadership style….any suggestions???
you don’t have to read the following, but this is what i have so far….

Our new President, Barack Obama, definitely has a unique leadership style. President Obama is a great speaker; he shows authority and confidence in his speeches which in turn makes many American Citizens feel comfortable with him leading the nation. His priorities are to fix economy, health, and environmental issues. One of his main priorities is to fix education. In one of his speeches he brought up the No Child Left Behind policy which was done with great intent and good reasons, however, the resources for making it a success were not in place. It seems that instead of teaching they’re more concerned with testing the children. He’s excellent at choosing the right people to be put into major positions of authority within his administration. For example Vice President Joe Biden’s past experience in shaping U.S. foreign policy such as issues relating to terrorism, weapons of mass destruction and domestic issues is well needed with the current status quo of the United States.

Do you believe that the Mexican Occupation of American is a threat to American society?
Everything is coming out with duel languages from milk to toilet paper, to store advertisements to restaurant menus, to DVDs and crayon boxes. I can understand people who can not read English need some extra help, but to replace or add to what we see in daily life all over the country is crazy. The money used on merchandise for extra printing, and extra printing of Spanish makes the English words smaller to read. Is this money and ink worth using? You got more illegals here and Obama is allowing this, to replace the legal people who deserve more priority. You see the evidence all around if you live here. Not only in what we read when buying things, but with all the American citizens out of jobs because of illegals taking them. We all know it. We all know people affected by loosing a job and not finding one. We all are tired trying to read something important but having to skim to find the right line in all of the Spanish words present on the labels/manuals.
Nothing against Mexicans or people who speak Spanish. No. Nothing wrong with people coming to this country to gain a better education. Nothing wrong with that. The problems the people coming here just to use up our resources and society. I know of some areas with almost a dozen illegals live in the same house and they all do jobs that teenagers or out of work adults should be doing. They (not all, but easiest pronoun for me at the moment) can not speak or read English (I saw a guy go into one of those driving schools with an interpreter to read road signs!!), get jobs that out of work citizens need (outsourcing is just as much fault as illegals), and taxes are used to support them.
Would you even consider this a prejudice issue or an issue of American heritage and standards? Heck, this country was founded under Christian principles and you got people building monuments of false gods, slapping the families of 9/11 in the face with it.
Now, I need your thoughts and opinions about this please. Curious how some Yahoos will consider this country’s status.

The products coming from mexico are of poor quality, I don’t feel it’s right to have any product in a country that has any other language than the one that is spoken in that country, no product in this country should have spanish or any other language written on it except ENGLISH.

Like many things, it depends on the circumstances. Typically, a child born in a foreign country with one U.S. citizen parent is entitled to American citizenship. Of course, Uncle Sam has set up more hoops in some situations than in others. Your local embassy or consulate is the best resource for answers about this bureaucratic circus.
And for those of you who think you aren’t affected by the information that follows, consider that you just may find be enjoying a nice overseas vacation when your new diaper-wearing traveling companion decides to join you.
First, let’s start off with a quick lesson on U.S. citizenship. America follows the English common law rule of “right of soil.” In short, citizenship is determined bones’s place of birth. As such, those born in the U.S. or its territories (likPertto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam), are American citizens regardless of their parents’ citizenship status.
What you might not know is the borders for citizenship. Those born within U.S. ports and harbors or within 12 nautical miles of U.S. borders are also American citizens. Even babies born on planes flying over the U.S. or its territories acquire U.S. citizenship. The ship or plane’s country of origin makes no difference regarding citizenship.
However, U.S. installations in foreign countries are not considered part of the United States. So, delivering a baby at a U.S. naval base or embassy in a foreign country does not entitle the baby to U.S. citizenship.
Although the “citizenship by birth” rules have been complex, the February 2001 Child Citizenship Act (CCA) simplified the process. Now, a child who is under the age of 18, was born outside the U.S., and has at least one U.S. citizen parent automatically acquires U.S. citizenship upon entry into the country as an immigrant. No further paperwork is necessary. The parent may request a Certificate of Citizenship and U.S. Passport for the child if proof of the baby’Americana’sss is desired.
But this process only applies to children permanently residing in the U.S. If the child is under 18, was born outside the United States, but lives abroad in the physical and legal custody of a U.S. citizen parent or U.S. citizen grandparent, the parent or grandparent must apply for naturalization of the child. In addition, more criteria must be met.
The U.S. citizen parent or grandparent must have been physically present in the U.S. for five years before the child’s birth, at least two of which were after age fourteen. Further, the child must be temporarily present in the U.S. for the naturalization process and to recite the oath of allegiance. Of course, if the child is too young to understand the oath, this requirement may be waived.
At this naturalization ceremony, the foreign-born, foreign-resident babies gain not only a certificate of citizenship but also membership into an exclusive club. The Constitution rules that only “natural born” citizens can hold our highest office, so it seems these new Americans won’t grow up to be President either. The regulations suggest parents who contemplate baby’s future run for the White House may want to consider permanent residence in the United States after the birth of little George or Hilary.

certainly explains quite well the feelings of many people I have talked to about our government and how it seems to actually be there to work against the interests of american citizens. How should you describe how people feel abour record budget deficits, record trade deficits, record outsourcing of jobs, loss of 15% of our manufacturing to overseas cheaper labor sources, record illegal immigration invasion with the illegals taking millions of jobs, depressing wages, and using up scarce social service resources…and of course contributing to rising crime, record consistently high gas prices, record unaffordability of health care even for working american citizens, 2 wars going on that seem pretty much to be wars without end that could literally keep going as they are easily for another 10 or 20 years etc….
So its now a problem to speak honnesly while running for office? A candidate can’t even describe that the people are unhappy?

That wasn’t the problem . . . it was the part about clinging to religion which is offensive and condescending. What if he had made a similar comment towards the Chinese or the Russians . . . could you even begin to imagine the political implications.

i am just curious because they claim that illegal immigrants are using resources that could have been used for an American citizen, but how is an American citizen more important than a citizen from another country simply because he was fortuante enough to be born in the USA rather than a 3rd world country? I think its great that illegal immigrants are creating diversity in the USA. I hope illegal immigrants continue to use up the resources of the USA. They deserve it.

Dear Mr. Hussein:
We, The Youth of the United States of America, most respectfully request that, in the interest of our future, you resign from your current position as President of the United States of America.
It is evident as of this point in history that you are severely underqualified for the charge, and we beg from you that, instead of experimenting with the resources of this nation, you allow someone else with the necessary knowledge to take charge and guide us out of these difficult times for our economy.
Please, Mr. Hussein, step down now, and don’t let your arrogance stop you from doing what we are certain you know, deep down, to be the correct course of action. Just imagine how we, American Citizens, feel about the state of our country in order to beg you this. Imagine how would you feel if you saw your home nation of Kenya threatened by destruction due to incompetence.
Our main points to consider your failure complete are related to the following:
1. National Defense: The President of the United States must be America’s foremost apologist. He must not only serve as our commander-in-chief – the senior most proponent of our military strength and agility – he (or she) must continually “market” all that is good and just within their nation.
You never once extolled the virtues and accomplishments of this nation while overseas. You have never once enacted policies designed to defeat our enemies at all cost. Your attitude is not to promote the strength of America, but to diminish this capability through unarticulated blame.
2. Economic Defense: The United States of America is a purely capitalistic enterprise. If it were not, then it would have been extremely ironic that the communist Soviet Union — the “Evil Empire” — would have spent six decades trying to destroy our economic mechanisms. Capitalism is the antithesis of communism and since communism has failed, it can only be proven that free market capitalism represents success.
Unfortunately, you hate capitalism and you are pushing aggressively to emulate failed communist/socialist states. Instead of supporting free market enterprise, eliminating federal regulations and restrictions, and letting companies float or sink based on their own merits, you seek to experiment at the expense of the entire nation.
3. Racism: You are the most transparently racist commander-in-chief that ever served our nation. If there were any lingering doubts to this, your recent actions in the case of Professor Gates illustrate your total disregard not only for law and order, but your resentment of a nation where “all men are created equal”.
Your economic policies are intentionally designed to enslave urban minorities and keep individual blacks (and Native Americans, Hispanics, and Asians) from proudly emerging from their poverty-striken enclaves here within the United States.
4. . Arrogance: With as many national press conferences in six months as his predecessor held in eight years and four times as many television interviews, you demonstrate remarkable narcissism. Our commander-in-chief is supposed to be a servant of the people of the United States, not its messiah.
Our Constitution demands a president that is humble at home and hawkish abroad. You happen to be the complete opposite, praising foreign governments and their policies at home, while degrading America and her serving men and women while abroad.
5. Honest Discourse: You were packaged to the American people as an articulate, educated, and dynamic leader. The slightest deviance from a teleprompter, however, reveals you as a hopelessly bigoted, criminally ignorant, and pathetically indecisive individual.
Your only claim to fame is not your partial African-American heritage, but the fact that you once were a community organizer for an organized crime community. Once, you surrounded himself with terrorists and bigots who hated America. Now, you surround yourself with tax cheats and progressives who wish to destroy America.
6. Patriotism: You have kissed up to the Axis of Evil by laying full blame for the world’s problems squarely upon the United States. This is inexcusable. This is precisely why Black America gaffed its opportunities following the Civil War and descended into the cauldron of Urban America.
Individuals make a difference; institutions do not. If the world is awash with problems, then it is because the individuals of those locations have neither the heart nor the guts to rise up to the challenge. The Army possesses many robotic mechanisms that are intended to be used in Future Combat Systems. There are also a relatively large number of non-lethal weapons in the Army’s arsenal.
Persons entering the United States without passing through an authorized Immigration Control checkpoint, are criminals if they do so as American citizens. Persons entering whom are not American citizens do not have the same rights or protections provided to citizens.
Persons entering the US illegally for work have no intention of paying taxes to fund the various programs to support our way of life, and usually, the majority of all money made is funneled outside of the US which causes a depression in our economy. This is not the fault of the individual, it is simply how our economic system is setup. We have to control the numbers entering illegally because the unemployment rate would rise. However, if parent countries of these persons would allow improve relations with the US to allow business enterprise to be fairly implimented so that these people braving to enter the US for work would have equitable work at home, then there would be no need for borders. But until that time, we must restrict the many millions of people who want to enter the US to work because we can not absorb them into our economy without pushing out those here who are underprivledged. Those who have ADHD, dislexia, and other mental imparements have a difficult time making a living here as it is. So our borders should be protected, not from the individuals, but because of the business practices necessary to maintain the quality of life for our citizens.
I am suggesting that Army military robotic hardware be tested by patrolling the borders of the United States before putting millions of dollars of equipment in harms way in battlefield situations. A robotic device must be able to deal with non-lethal intervention.
Sonic herding of individuals back across the border, using bola or net guns to secure individuals on the run, shooting out tires and wheels to disable vehicles on the run, providing highspeed opportunities for robotic vehicles to overtake and deal with vehicles on the run like latching claws and applying brakes, documenting all scenarios precisely to build stradegies upon, …
Related to patroling the borders, there are so many opportunities for the military to use real people as test subjects. A large portion of the multi-billion dollar budget for securing our borders might go towards using military technologies more productively than could the private sector. Or better, the technology transfers to the private sector and provide greater funding for related military developments. I’m not promoting war, but I am promoting the efficient use of our national resources.
Obviously, the military technologies should be developed to the point of having likely success in implementation.
RFID transponders embedded in roadways along the borders would allow many simple vehicles with surveillance equipment to patrol borders with only one human operator. This system is already largely developed both in the private sector and in military research. The vehicles would investigate anomalies detected by broad coverage surveilance sensors.
All individuals found on the border would have pictures automatically taken of them to determine their identity or to create a baseline. Perhaps an Iris Image could be photographed for positive identification at a later time. More advanced and more expensive robotics could then be deployed to engage situations requiring more than a loudspeaker and a recording.
The border patrol would be called upon to apprehend individuals refusing to go back across the border. Army robotics would standby to support the border patrol in life threatening situations. If the border patrol is fired upon, the Army robots would subdue the assailants while protecting both the border patrol and anyone colocated with the asailant. A robot can take a sniper shot at a 100 yards with almost absolute certainty and is in no way endangered by small ammunition. A heavy rubber bullet delivered by the robot, though it might break the assailants ribs, might save his life.
Army robotics should definitely play a role in patrolling our borders. The further development of AI in operating defense mechanisms allows for both a real life test bed, and also a great savings in both border patrol costs and increased efficiency.

I mean, why is Mexico, such a worthless, 3rd world, wasteland that many of it’s citizens are getting the heck out, into North America, because life is so much better here, instead of them staying in Mexico, & trying to make Mexico a better place. And what is their justification, in claiming a “right” to partake of the “good life” in North America, while at the same time, cursing the day, that the Europeans, who made possible the “good life” that these Mestizo, border hoppers, want a piece of ??? . If we Europeans had not arrived to “civilize” this contenant, then these Meztizos would still be living in straw huts, & offering up human sacrifices, to their bloodthirsty “Gods” at their pyramid, down on the Yucatan. So, clearly, these Mestizos, need to get down on their hands & knees & thank the “Good Lord” above, for the day that the Europeans did arrive here, so as to bring to the “Great Bronze Race” a level of civilization, that they would never have been able to achieve on their own,.I might suggest, that since both Mexico, & America have abundant natural resources, that the reason, for the disparity, between the level of economic prosparity between the two countries, must have something to do, with the “ethnic” makup of the two places,.
