Do I need to take early childhood education classes to open a daycare?

Question by squirt: Do I need to take early childhood education classes to open a daycare?
I would like to open a daycare center(not out of my home) and was going to take schooling through Penn Foster for child day care management, will i also need to get and associates in early childhood education? or any other certifications?

I don’t know what state your in, but in Florida you need only 2 courses to be certified. Check with your state licensing department, they should be able to clarify this for you. I don’t think that you need to obtain an associates degree. Best of luck to you!
