Cat won’t take Atopica pill, is there a liquid online?
Question by zoeyihb: Cat won’t take Atopica pill, is there a liquid online?
My cat has suffered from allergies for a long time now. They thought it was feline herpes, then frequent URI’s, and have now narrowed it down to Allergies. They prescribed Atopica and I started her on it 7 days ago. No improvement yet, but the vet says Atopica can take a few weeks to start working.
My problem is the pill is almost impossible to get her to swallow each night. I have a syringe I fill with water, place the pill in her mouth and try and shoot the pill down with the water. It is almost impossible to be honest. The vet said there is a company locally who will compound the Atopica into liquid, but it is kind of pricey. Does anyone know of a resource online I can buy the liquid form with a written prescription? If not even a better way of giving her the pill would help! Thanks.
Thanks for all the replies. I can’t crush it, it is in a hard coated capsule. The butter solution sounds good, I will try that tonite.
